Hamilton Montana is a small community with an approximate population of
4,000. The town of Hamilton is located deep in the
Bitterroot National Forest. Hamilton is surrounded
by mountains with the Bitterroot range to the west,
Anaconda Range to the southeast. and Sapphire range
to the north east. |

The Bitterroot Mountains gained national attention with
the wildfires in the summer of 2000. The fires were so large
the smoke was forcing many people from their homes. Hamilton
was spared from the wildfires. Hamilton on the banks of the
Bitterroot River.
